DESCRIPTION:30-Hour General Industry OSHA Outreach Training Program – \n\
 nDesignated Training Topics. \n\nThe 30-hour General Industry OSHA Outreac
 h Training Program is intended to provide a variety of training to workers
  with some safety responsibility. Training should emphasize hazard identif
 ication\, avoidance\, control and prevention\, not OSHA standards. Instruc
 tional time must be a minimum of 30 hours.\n\nThe topic requirements are a
 s follows:\n\n 	 Mandatory - 12 hours.                        
                                                  
                                              a) Intr
 oduction to OSHA – 1 hour.\n\n(1) OSHA has required training content for
  this module - see https://www.osha.gov/dte/outreach/teachingaids.html.\n\
 n(2) Covers workers' rights\, employer responsibilities and how to file a 
 complaint. It includes helpful worker safety and health resources. It also
  provides a sample weekly fatality and catastrophe report\, a safety data 
 sheet and the OSHA Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses (OSHA Form 3
 00).\n\n(3) Materials include an Instructor Guide\, student handouts\, and
  participatory activities.\n\nb) Managing Safety and Health – 2 hours.\n
 \nMay include Injury and Illness Prevention Programs\, job site inspection
 s\, accident prevention programs\, management commitment and employee invo
 lvement\, worksite analysis\, hazard prevention and control\, accident inv
 estigations\, how to conduct safety meetings\, and supervisory communicati
 on.\n\nc) Walking and Working Surfaces\, including fall protection – 1 h
 our.\n\nd) Exit Routes\, Emergency Action Plans\, Fire Prevention Plans\, 
 and Fire Protection – 2 hours.\n\ne) Electrical – 2 hours.\n\nf) Perso
 nal Protective Equipment (PPE) – 1 hour.\n\ng) Materials Handling – 2 
 hours.\n\nh) Hazard Communication – 1 hour.\n\n 	 Elective - 10 hours. \
 n\nMust present at least 10 hours of training on the following topics.\n\n
 At least five (5) of the following topics must be presented.\n\nThe minimu
 m length of any topic is one-half hour.\n\na) Hazardous Materials (Flammab
 le and Combustible Liquids\, Spray Finishing\, Compressed Gases\, Dipping 
 and Coating Operations).\n\nb) Permit-Required Confined Spaces.\n\nc) Lock
 out / Tagout.\n\nd) Machine Guarding.\n\ne) Welding\, Cutting\, and Brazin
 g.\n\nf) Introduction to Industrial Hygiene.\n\ng) Bloodborne Pathogens.\n
 \nh) Ergonomics.\n\ni) Fall Protection.\n\nj) Safety and Health Programs.\

  hours.\n\nTeach other general industry hazards or policies and/or expand 
 on the mandatory or elective topics. The minimum length of any topic is on
